  • A combust Graha loses its power.
  • This does not apply to Chandra, Rahu & Ketu.
  • The degree of proximity at which Grahas become combust varies from Graha to Graha.
  • It is normally agreed that the Graha combustion effects are effective when they are in the same Nakshatra Pada with Surya.
  • After that the effects are not severe.
  • The following are the Graha combustion details as per the Surya Siddhanta:
  • Mangala – within 17 °
  • Budha – within 12° when retrograde and 14° when in normal motion.
  • Guru – within 8° when normal and 11° when in normal motion.
  • Shukra – within 8° when retrograde & 10° when in normal motion.

GRAHA KARTHARI YOGA

Graha Karthari Yoga:-

  • When a Graha is hemmed between 2 Shubha (benefic) Grahas, then it has Shubha Karthari Yoga. The Graha gains extra power, strength, energy.
  • When the Graha is hemmed between 2 Papi (malefic) Grahas, then it has Papa Karthari Yoga. The Graha loses all its power, strength, energy.
  • If a Graha is hemmed between Vakri Grahas, then that Graha gives results like when it is Vakri.
  • If Guru, Shani or Rahu are hemmed between any 2 Grahas, then the Papa Karthari Yoga does not operate.
  • If any Graha is hemmed between Shani or Rahu in the front & Surya or Mangala at the back, even if the Graha is a benefic, it gives only bad results.
  • If that Graha in-between the malefic Grahas is in a weak Rashi or in weak Bhava, then it destroys Raja Yoga.
